Tweets of the Week (5-27)

Rotavirus is a hell of thing! It really waylaid us this week. Sorry about our slow week on the site!

Here’s the¬†weekly installment of Tweets of the Week. Keep up your amazing tweeting!

Anyone want to go on a vacation? That is a beautiful site is it not?

This made me chuckle.

Somewhat related question–has anyone tried writing using one of those voice-to-text tools (like Dragon Naturally Speaking)? I’ve been very curious to try this out to se how my writing style changes. I would love to know if anyone has tried writing that way.

This is a great read. @Mediascover does a wonderful job stirring up emotions and laying out the vulnerabilities of writers in this piece. If you like it, You’ll enjoy his latest book¬†The Gingerbread Collection.

Shameless plug? Maybe… Plug for @beachboundbooks and their great reviews! I wonder what that latest #bookreview is about. Huh. Maybe I’ll check that book out.

Minnesota. Nuff said.

If your goal is to¬†be featured¬†on Tweets of the Week, Minnesota or Einstein will probably do it for you. I’m a sucker for Minnesota and Einstein.
Keep writing away friends!

Tweets of the Week (4-22)

Well, I have had some positive feedback on Tweets of the Week thus far, so we’re going to keep it going. And this week we’re including Facebook! Mind blown, right?! Tweets of the week including Facebook?!?!

Here’s the¬†weekly installment of Tweets of the Week. Keep up your amazing tweeting!

I mean, this doesn’t need an explanation right? It’s just too damn good. I don’t even care if it might be photo shopped and it’s not a real bookstore. I’m going to assume it is. Well done @ctmitchellbooks. Well done, sire.

This one made me laugh too. I could explain it to you, but what’s the fun in that. Click on the link @WriterDMac provides. You’ll enjoy that you got to figure out the joke for yourself.

Hailing from Minnesota myself, this news was especially sad for me. Prince is a pop icon, but he’s a Minnesota legend. Stories¬†about Prince’s coolness and kindness seem to be around every corner in Minnesota. Every other person has some story or quip about the second greatest musician to ever hail from our state. (Sorry, Prince, I love you dearly. RIP. But Bob Dylan still holds that crown.)

Love Elie Wiesel. Love this.

Those of you that are regular readers of¬†Nothing Any Good know I love Mr. Rogers. It’s because he would say things like this.

I met a millionaire once that owned a janitorial company. You read that right. A millionaire janitor. He made his millions cleaning offices and schools. Do the things that other people don’t want to and do it a long time.

Well I gratuitously plugged my own book in last week’s post, so I think it’s best to plug someone else’s in this week’s post. @assaphmehr is kind, creative, and brilliant soul. Check out his book.

I loved this. It’s weird and deep all at once. Cry people. There’s no shame in crying. It saves you from so much suffering. The wonderfully inspiring, late basketball coach Jim Valvano once said, “If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special.” Don’t forget to cry; it heals the soul.

To create something wonderful, you have to be willing to look stupid, to fall down, to be laughed at, to be wrong. It’s the life we choose.

Oh man! This weeks tweets are way too serious! C’mon! Is there anything light hearted!

There we go! Two weeks in a row @WIRUniverse. Thanks! Milk was a bad choice.

Keep tweeting! Keep writing!
